Description

For all my chillonas, because feeling everything is a beautiful thing. A little reminder that it's okay to cry, to feel, and to make room for all the emotions that make us human.

Meet Chillona, a handwoven tissue box made with mucho amor in collaboration with artisans from Oaxaca, México. Designed to bring warmth, culture, and a little tenderness into the everyday moments of life.

Made Possible by Many Hands

What looks like one simple object holds generations of knowledge, patient hands, and hours of work.

Each Chillona begins in Oaxaca, México, where ethically sourced fallen palm leaves are naturally dyed with earth pigments, carefully prepared strand by strand, and woven entirely by hand.

At Amarte, we believe honoring craftsmanship also means honoring the people behind it. That's why we work directly with our artisans through fair trade principles. The price they ask for their work is the price we pay. No bargaining, no negotiating their worth. We believe the hands preserving these traditions deserve to be valued and fairly compensated.

From the weaving in Oaxaca to the leather details and hand-sewn label finished here in Chula Vista, California, every piece is made possible by many hands, each bringing their own knowledge, time, and cariño.

No two pieces are exactly alike. The natural variations in the weave are a beautiful reminder that these pieces are made by real people, preserving traditions and carrying their craft forward.

When you bring Chillona into your home, you're supporting more than a handmade object. You're supporting the people, their stories, and the continuation of traditions worth preserving.

Because even something as simple as reaching for a tissue can remind us to be a little gentler with ourselves.

Por Que El Arte Sana

about amarte

Amarte is a creative project born from the belief "El arte sana" which translates to "Art Heals."

Founder Patricia Galceran-Coli designs collections that merge tradition with self-love, ritual, and emotional expression. She turns healing into something tangible, through prints, ceramics, journals, and care packages made with deep intention, in collaboration with fellow artisans.

She share's her story because she believe's creativity isn’t just a talent, it’s a way of life.

If you’ve ever felt like your art didn’t matter, or like it was too late to come back to yourself, she hopes her work reminds you:

"You can start again. You can turn your pain into power."

"You can get curious again. And claim what’s always been yours."
